WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

When you work with Postguys, you support freelancers and workers as they work to improve their lives and their communities. It means that Postguys’ products are produced by small-scale organisations or individual producers who have met the company’s social, economic and ethical standards.

The standards include protection of workers’ rights, payment of a minimum price and an additional premium to invest in business or community projects. The premium is the additional sum of money paid on top of the minimum price that producers and workers receive which can be invested in social, cultural and economic developmental projects to improve their businesses and their communities.

Postguys works to benefit small-scale producers, freelancers and workers, who are amongst the most marginalised in the supply chain, through trade rather than aid to enable them to maintain their livelihoods and reach their potential.

Our aim is to protect workers’ basic rights; to keep them safe and healthy; to allow them freedom of association and collective bargaining; to prevent discrimination and to ensure no bonded or illegal child labour. Our standards require employers to pay wages that progress towards living wage benchmarks.
